21. Avon Preservation & Historical Society

The Avon Preservation and Historical Society was chartered in 1983 and the society’s museum is located at 27 Genesee Street in the Village of Avon, housed in the Avon Opera Block. Constructed in 1876, this historic and architecturally significant building has a long history as a social and cultural center and was listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The museum is home to a wide variety of collections, including many unique photographs, historical documents, and local memorabilia.

They welcome the public to visit on Thursdays and Sundays between 1:00-4:00 pm or by appointment.
